Lauren Ell, Managing Editor, Sweden and Joshua Tree, CA
Lauren Ell lived her entire childhood in Desert Hot Springs, CA. She has visited the hi desert ever since she was a child and would explore Joshua Tree National Park for fun. She was drawn to the hi desert in 2006 after attending a music festival in Pioneertown, CA where she noted the natural beauty of the area and serene peace of the community.
After 2006 Lauren explored various environments for travel and school. She lived in Sweden for a year as a Rotary International Youth Exchange student. For a year and a half she attended California State University Northridge as a Marketing major and then switched to Geology where she studied at Humboldt State in Arcata, CA for a year.
Lauren relocated to Joshua Tree in August 2014 where she immediately became involved in desert conservation initiatives and community innovation in environmental awareness. She is very supportive of community efforts to keep commercial development in check and protecting the desert as much as possible.
